Foreign holidays
Tempted to try and go to Greece for a week in August, though not sure there are the bargains I thought! Got 2 kids - 7 and 5 not sure if the social distancing will ruin it a bit for them. Any of you off on a foreign jolly?

Re: Foreign holidays
No. I have decided to forego a foreign holiday this year and holiday within the UK. The main reason being patriotism in the sence of wanting to contribute (in a small way) to helping rebuild the UK economy.

I can' understand why people would be tempted to holiday abroad but I'd prefer to spend all of my holiday expenditure within the UK this year.

I’m off to Cornwall for a week, was supposed to be in Spain but that can wait another year.

Put my hard earned money into the British economy this time round.

Cos the weather is shit and the state of our roads/trains means that getting to the other side of the country could take about 5x how long it'd take to fly somewhere else.

Although I do admire your principles

I wouldn't go anywhere until the foreign office advice says so, otherwise your travel insurance will be invalid

Re: Foreign holidays
Not at all keen on flying anywhere at the moment.

The idea of spending the best part of a day dressed for surgery, sat around airport terminals does not appeal at all.

As others have said and I hadn't really thought about it that way, but it would be good to pump some much needed funds back into our own economy.

I imagine if you plonk yourself down in an airport bar/lounge while you wait, you will be able to dispense with the mask - the drive to maximise revenue from transit customers will outweigh any H&S issues; plus, the chances are that you will already have been tested as clear to fly before getting passed check-in.

A departure lounge is likely to be one f the more sterile places on the planet.

Inside a metal tube for hours on end, surrounded by strangers, that's a different kettle of fish.

Staying in the UK, taking the Hound down to Dorset for a week this month, can't be arsed with going abroad this year

It's been at least 45 degrees outside every day for the last month where I am and the virus is still running amok.

I strongly suspect that the temperature thing is a ruse to get people to shut the fuck up.

Off to see my dad who lives in Fethiye, Turkey for 15 days on 20th August. It's going to be very hot as usual at that time of year. Looking forward to it immensely
